screen black also flickers when trying to create my first character. Please help

I'm not sure what to do. It took me forever to download the client - but now i'm in and I can't create a character because I can't see it. It's just black and seems to occasionally flicker. Can anyone advise how to fix this? Thanks everyone i'm really looking forward to fixing this issue and being able to play Aion again - especially this version.

When you start to make your Character and screen flickers or black hit previous button and the click next again. Sometimes have to do a couple times. It has something to do with video settings
